Safeguarding Policy

Our commitment to protecting children and vulnerable adults

Mamacita Foundation is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults in all our activities, services and events. We believe everyone has the right to be safe from harm, abuse and neglect, and we will act in the best interests of those at risk.

Our Commitment

Our trustees accept responsibility for safeguarding and ensure policies, training and reporting procedures are in place, understood and reviewed regularly. We maintain the highest standards of child protection and adult safeguarding across all our operations.

Staff and Volunteer Training

All staff and volunteers are recruited safely, receive induction and role-appropriate safeguarding training, and know how to recognise, record and report concerns. We ensure that everyone working with us understands their responsibilities in protecting vulnerable individuals.

Partnership and Information Sharing

We work in partnership with service users, carers and statutory agencies, sharing information lawfully and appropriately when safety is at stake. Our collaborative approach ensures that concerns are addressed comprehensively and effectively.

Responding to Concerns

Concerns are taken seriously, responded to without delay, and escalated to Police Scotland or the local authority as required. We have clear procedures in place to ensure that any safeguarding concerns are handled promptly and appropriately.

Our Culture

We foster a culture of dignity, respect, inclusion and accountability. We encourage anyone with a concern to contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead at info@mamacitafoundationuk.com.
